A survey was conducted by Microsoft late in 2007. They asked about 500 members of the boards of well-known companies whether interpersonal skills were as important, or less important, than knowledge and experience with I.T. (information technology).
The results were probably not what Microsoft was expecting; over 60% said that the ability to get along with others and work in teams were more important than IT skills.
Mr. Bill Gates, chairman of Microsoft, said that communications skills were important but the need for IT skills was evident at every level and every kind of job.
