Don’t Listen To Your Dietitian!

Posted by admin On April - 17 - 2009

weight-lossJust how many of you have gone down this path? You started dieting for couple of months, you see some small changes in your weight and your friends started commenting how fabulous you look. And all of a sudden, you are back to your earlier weight and to your horror you are fast gaining your weight back! Like most people, you are getting tired of endless dieting regimes with little or no results. The average person spends a great deal of time and money dieting throughout their lives, but for what? MOST DIETS SIMPLY DO NOT WORK!

Don’t Listen To Your Dietitian!

Not yet, not till you have the chance to find out the FIVE Reasons why most diets don’t make sense.

Reason 1 – Diets Are Normally Not For Long Term Weight Loss

Grapefruit seems to be one favorite fruits dietitians recommend,  you are asked to eat  for every meal.  How long can you eat grapefruits for every meal for the rest of your life? I can’t, neither can you.  This diet is possible only if you want to drop weight for a short period of time, like a body builder getting ready for weighing it.  It just doesn’t make any sense for the long term at all!

Reason 2 – Diets Are Usually Hard To Follow

Have you seen a simple diet scheduled by a dietitian. I bet that you have never seen one.  Most diets are so complex that it would take a rocket scientist to figure them out.   You need to know how to count calories, how to count carb, how to count fat, separating the different types of fats and so many different jargon.  I bet most people will give up after a week or so.

Reason 3 – Diets Are Generally Becoming A Job In Themselves To Maintain

Some diets recommended by the dietitian practically require you to have your own chef, personal planner, one personal trainer.  It just does not make sense.  Slimming down should not equate to burning a hole in your pocket.

Reason 4 – Diets Are Typically Too Expensive

Some diets recommended are way too expensive with high initial start-up fees, members are coaxed to subscribe their patented equipment which are generally above market value and are charged for ongoing support.  These costs are just not realistic in the long run which makes no sense.  A diet should not break the bank account!

Reason 5 – Diets Are Unfortunately Lacking In Goal Setting

Many diets simply instruct you to “take a pill and see what happens”.  You are going to get nowhere unless you have a written plan of your goals.  With goal setting strategies, you will know the exact steps to take in order to achieve those goals.  It does not make sense to start a diet that does not stress these points!

And now this is the time for you to listen to this dietitian.

Strip That Fat System is designed with all those reasons listed above and many more in mind.  The system comes with the following:

The Chinese believe in “The Middle Way” – literally translated from the phrase “中庸之道” I guess that pretty much sum up how we should lead our life. Be moderate in all the things we do, exercise moderately, eat moderately or as you said, “eat some sinful cholesterol laden food if you must”. It is better to enjoy life, even that is done moderately as well, haha, I hope I make sense.

Going on a diet requires common sense too. We have seen too many latest "discoveries" with University of so-and-so, that such and such a good thing is actually bad, or are nothing but myths.I have given up reading such "latest ground-breaking researches " and stick only to eating moderately, sensibly and above all, execrcise (latest discovery: exercise is harmful to your health). Enjoy life and your food, eat some sinful cholesterol laden food if you must, it may shorten you life by one or two years or even 5 years, but its worth it and definitely better than hobbling around in a walking stick at age 85 or wheelchair bound at 73. Cheers!

Thank you for dropping by and share with me your opinion. I admit that I may raise some controversy with such a post and especially with the title. However, I did my best in saying that you need to know certain thing first before you speak to your dietitian so you are more objective in forming your own opinion and starting your diet plan. Thank you once again for sharing. I will continue to research and learn in this area.

While much of what you are saying is true you are extremely off base with what you are saying regarding dietitians. I can’t speak for all but dietitians teach people how to make healthy choices for a lifetime…not to go on a trendy diet. Dietitians also work with a patient or client to individulize things for you…not put you on a challenging/expensive meal plan. Look for a Registered Dietitian not just a “nutritionist” to get the right info.
